Pam Lake, CEO & Founder of 33X Ranch Experience
I want to share my story with you - not just how 33X Ranch began, but the heart behind it.
I grew up in Atoka, Oklahoma, surrounded by wide-open skies and the hard but beautiful life of cattle ranching. Both sides of my family worked the land, and that upbringing deeply shaped who I am today. As an American Indian of Choctaw and Cherokee descent, my roots run deep in faith, family, and a profound respect for nature and the healing bond between people and animals.
At a very young age, I always had a special connection with animals - especially horses. There was something about their strength, gentleness, and silent understanding that brought me comfort and healing through life's hardest seasons. That bond became an anchor for me, and I believe God used it to plant the seeds of purpose that would one day grow into the 33X Ranch Experience.
My childhood had its challenges. When I was just 11 years old, my father was tragically murdered — a loss that changed everything. Life became difficult, but God had a way of placing people in my path who would carry me through.
Not long after, we moved back to Oklahoma and settled near my grandfather, Willard Olsen. He was a war veteran, a man of strength and compassion, and my greatest inspiration. His deep love for people and selfless service ignited something in me - a lifelong desire to help others, especially war veterans, first responders, and anyone in need of healing and hope.
Years later, I moved to Pennsylvania during my junior year of high school, where I met the love of my life. Together, we built a family rooted in faith, resilience, and purpose. We trusted God's leading every step of the way — and He blessed us beyond measure. One of those blessings was the beautiful property that would become 33X Ranch.
As the saying goes, "If you build it, they will come." I truly believe God gave us this ranch as a place of restoration and transformation - not just for the horses, but for people, too. Some of the horses that come to us were simply no longer needed, yet when given love, patience, and purpose, they begin to heal. In that same way, 33X Ranch was created to be a safe haven - a place where hearts can find peace, and lives can be changed through equine-assisted learning and emotional healing.
Every horse has a story. Every person who walks through our gates does, too. My hope is that this ranch becomes the bridge between the two - where healing begins, faith grows stronger, and lives are forever transformed
Thank you for being part of our journey.- Pam Lake
